Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN First Assist for OB GYN surgery with strong OB operating room and cesarean section experience for a night shift assignment.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position based in the OB GYN surgical unit of a hospital
• Primary responsibilities in Labor & Delivery surgical cases including cesarean sections and obstetric procedures
• Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
• 13-week contract assignment
• Collaborates with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers
• Provide intraoperative support in OB surgeries, maintain sterile technique, and ensure surgical readiness
• Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced OB environment
• Effective clinical judgment and strong communication skills are essential for this role
• Night shift assignment with no on-call requirements specified
• All Ascension facilities have a radius rule allowing local candidates at a reduced rate
• Covid-19 vaccination is no longer required
• Only one Ascension position may be held at a time system-wide

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of OB operating room First Assist experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
• NRP certification from AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics required
• PALS certification from AHA required
• Nursys verification and primary source license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
• Copy of driver’s license required
• Two professional references required
