Job Description: The host is the first point of contact for Guests and will set the tone for their dining experience. They are essential in creating an enjoyable dining experience that we aim to provide at Ember. Hosts must be friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable about the dining experience. 

Essential Functions:

• Warmly welcome Guests
• Intake new Guests for seating
• Use Toast to track open seats, clean & dirty tables, and seat guests
• Lead Guests to set tables
• Process cash transactions
• Process to-go orders
  • Take orders in-person or over the phone
  • Pack orders
• Assist servers with the following tasks based on workflow
  • Setting tables
  • Spot-cleaning the floor
  • Clearing tables
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED certificate
• Excellent interpersonal and telephone communication skills
• Previous cash handling experience
• Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional Guest service; service oriented with a “Guests come first” mentality
• Possesses a friendly, outgoing, positive and enthusiastic attitude
• Ability to be professional and courteous with the general public
• Able to exercise good judgment while working both independently and collaboratively; works well in a team environment
• Able to work in a noisy and sometimes chaotic environment and be flexible under a variety of circumstances
• Punctual, neat, and accurate in work habits; precise and detail-oriented
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays and extended schedules during peak periods
• The ability to adjust to business needs and display a sense or urgency during peak hours. 
• Valid ServSafe Food Handler’s Certificate

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 Years of previous host experience

Physical Demands

• Able to move from place to place which may include standing and/or walking for extended periods of time
• Lift and carry 20 lbs short distances

Dress Code: Black button-up and black pants, non-slip shoes

Pay Range: $17.00/hr to $22.00/hr + Tips
