ASSISTANT PASTRY CHEF

Stonebridge Country Club, a private country club in west Boca Raton, is seeking for a creative and talented Pastry Cook, reporting to our Executive Pastry Chef.

Responsibilities:

• Working cooperatively with others in a fast-paced environment
• Preparing, decorating and plating desserts which are pleasing to both the eye & palate
• Preparing baked goods
• Displaying prepared items in an aesthetically pleasing fashion
• Ensuring station or area is sanitary and fully functional
• Appropriately labeling & storing product at the end of each shift according to food safety standards
• Using equipment & tools in a safe manner according to manufacturer recommendations

Requirements:

• At least two years in a comparable commercial kitchen performing similar work
• Current food safety certification
• Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to read and execute recipes, and understand instructions from the supervisor
• Able to work in varying temperatures, ranging from cold in the freezers to the heat of the kitchen
• Able to stand for the entire shift, and able to bend, twist, crouch, and reach in the performance of the job
• Able to routinely lift 50 lbs. without assistance
• Able to work cooperatively with all members of the staff to achieve common objectives
• Able to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug test
• Able to work both day or evening shifts, and must be available to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis
