Join Our Team as an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at Troon Foothills Golf Club is seeking a qualified Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our team. This role is ideal for candidates who excel in a hospitality environment and are committed to providing exceptional playing conditions for our members and guests. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Superintendent in managing the golf course maintenance budget and capital plans. Supervise and support maintenance staff in daily operations. Participate in planning, organizing, and overseeing the maintenance and construction of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers. Manage planting and cultural practices for turf grasses, trees, and ornamental plants. Ensure proper maintenance of construction equipment. Assist in procurement of supplies, keeping costs within budget. Maintain records of maintenance activities and costs; prepare reports as needed. Follow sound purchasing procedures with preferred vendors. Process invoices, payroll, and other documents accurately and timely. Coordinate snow removal as required by the location. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and government regulations. Ensure staff obtain necessary licenses and address environmental concerns. Manage department team members, including mechanics, technicians, operators, foremen, greenskeepers, and irrigation technicians. Provide orientation and ongoing training for staff. Monitor business volume and plan resources accordingly. Incorporate safe work practices in all job functions. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree from a college or university, or equivalent experience (preferably in agronomy, horticulture, or soil science). 3-4 years of related experience. Additional Qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to obtain Virginia pesticide license within 6 months. Spray licensing is a plus but not mandatory.
