Job Title: Production Supervisor


Pay Range: $23–$26 per hour (based on experience)
Location: Hayward, CA and Union City, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time, Temp
Shift: Day shift but must be willing to work off shifts (evenings, nights, or weekends as needed)

Strong bilingual communication skills (English and Spanish) are essential for daily interaction with team members and for delivering training, instructions, and feedback effectively.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee and manage the daily operations of our hand assembly department for both temporary and permanent retail display products. This role is key to ensuring efficient use of materials, labor, and equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

The ideal candidate has experience leading a team of union, non-union, and temporary workers, with strong leadership and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly to changes. You will be responsible for training, supervising, and optimizing performance while ensuring compliance with company standards and safety protocols.

You will report directly to the Plant Manager and, in their absence, to the Associate Director of Plant Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily production and workforce activities in the finishing department.
  • Ensure efficient use of materials, equipment, and labor to meet cost and production targets.
  • Monitor and report on production efficiency; prepare daily reports and enter data into the production system.
  • Ensure production readiness and raw material availability.
  • Train, evaluate, and develop team members to improve performance and skill levels.
  • Maintain employee morale and foster a productive work environment.
  • Recommend staffing actions including promotions and terminations.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor hours, materials, and inventory.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for timely repair and upkeep of equipment.
  • Participate actively in the Safety Committee and ensure workplace safety.
  • Collaborate with engineering and management to recommend process improvements and new equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the department.
  • Support quality control and ensure finished goods meet company standards.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or display/POP (Point of Purchase) production environment.
  • Experience with Litho printing, Silk-screening, Digital printing, Mounting, Die-cutting, Assembly, and Kitting preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook; data entry experience required.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with small equipment such as stitchers, eyelet machines, pot Devin gluers, and hot melt adhesive applicators.
  • Knowledge of adhesive applications and hand-assembly line setups.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, and lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Work in a production environment with various equipment and materials.
