PASCO SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 1 EMPLOYEE SERVICES 1215 WEST LEWIS ST PASCO, WASHINGTON 99301 PHONE (509) 543-6700 FAX (509) 543-6728 Open: 03/13/2025 Close: 03/19/2025 or until filled POSITION: ASL Interpreter Location TBD EFFECTIVE DATE: 2024 - 2025 School Year SALARY: $23.48 - $24.58 per hour - Educational Signer/Interpreter $32.48 - $33.80 per hour - Earn minimum score of 4.0 on the EIPA $37.76 - $39.34 per hour - National Certification- NIC/RID SCHEDULE: Up to 6.5 hours per day, Monday-Friday 180 day - work year QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: (Qualifications which are essential to the position) - High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient sign language skills in a variety of systems
- Must be proficient in ASL
- Evidence of successful ability to work with the deaf/hearing impaired
- Demonstrated ability to carry out prescribed instructional management program
- Patience and warmth in working with students
- Ability to assume role of educational assistant and role of interpreter
- Demonstrated exemplary customer service and responsiveness
- Ability to work effectively with professionals in a school setting
- Must work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality
- Demonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance record
- Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative, working relationships
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff, students, and patrons
- Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS: DESIRED: (Qualifications which are not required, but would be useful to the position) - Successful experience interpreting for hearing impaired students in a school setting
- Bilingual/Biliterate English/Spanish
