Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position on the Mother Baby Unit with night shifts and travel assignments in New Jersey.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in the Mother Baby Unit/Maternity of a hospital setting
• Labor & Delivery patient population including postpartum care
• Schedule is 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Assignment length is approximately 8 weeks
• Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Epic EMR is used on this unit
• Provide assessment, direct patient care, documentation, and education to mothers and newborns
• Demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and Universal Protocol
• Participate as a responsible member of the perinatal care team
• Complete thorough documentation in Epic and comply with documentation guidelines
• Assignment may not exceed one year without a mandatory 30–60 day break before returning
• Scrub color/dress code will be provided at orientation
• Holiday and weekend shifts may be required based on unit needs
• Returning travelers must wait 30 days between assignments if changing agencies

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted)
