Job Description

**We are hiring substitute teachers in the Centralia School District 401 for the 2025-2026 School Year. No previous experience is required!**

Substitutes are essential in ensuring students continue to learn and grow every day. Substitute teachers may also be referred to as substitute educators, guest teacher or relief teacher.

**Minimum requirements:**

+ Valid Teaching License or Emergency Substitute Certificate

+ Here are some situations that may have you already prepared for certification:

+ Currently completing a teacher preparation program at the university level

+ Currently holding an out-of-state license

+ Currently holding a teaching degree from an outside country

+ Currently holding a career tech certification

+ Currently licensed in Washington

If none of the above applies to you, and you are still interested in becoming certified to be a substitute teacher, you may be able to obtain an Emergency Substitute Certificate.The first step will be to set up an account on the Education Data System (spi.k12.wa.us/Login.aspx) . Once that is set up, reach out and we will connect you with a district to initiate the application process. Once you finish the application and pay the fee, you will have 30 days from the date your certificate is officially issued to have any additional districts initiate requests so they can be added onto your certificate at no extra fee. Please note that the districts listed on your certificate will be the only districts in which your certificate will be valid.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies

+ Build a classroom environment thats conducive to learning and appropriate to the ability and interests of students

+ For long-term assignments, it may be required to develop lessons plans, as well as build, administer, and grade tests and assignments
