Brief Job Description (essential Functions of the Job) Under general supervision, operates and is responsible for a variety of special heavy motor equipment requiring a Commercial Driver's License & a Hoisting License and/or requiring unusual skill. Responsibilities May supervise a group of equipment operators or laborers; or be responsible for the maintenance and care of a small number of pieces of equipment. Performs related duties as required. Required to work any emergency as directed by the Chief of Streets or designee. Minimum Entrance Qualifications Must possess any and all licenses required by the Mass. Dept. of Public Safety to operate any special heavy motor equipment, including a valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and a Hoisting License. Must have the ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job. Applicants must be available to work any assigned shift, in any assigned location. Boston Residency Required Individuals wishing to be considered for this position must complete the Civil Service Labor Service registration process for the position at in addition to completing the City of Boston Career Center application.
