Job Description

A school district in the Belfast, ME area is seeking a Special Education teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position serves students from kindergarten through 8th grade in an elementary school setting. The role requires a dedicated educator with a Maine Special Education teaching credential and a Bachelors degree.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate students skills, learning styles, and individual needs to establish suitable educational goals and support strategies.
• Develop and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students strengths and challenges.
• Adapt and modify general education curriculum to ensure accessibility and appropriateness for students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to promote student success and inclusion.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Education or related field.
• Valid Maine Special Education teaching credential.
• Experience working with K-8 students with diverse learning needs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Location: Belfast, ME
Schedule: 35 hours per week during the 2025-2026 school year
Position Type: Contract (CSY)
