Manufacturing Grinder's company at the City of Santa Fe Springs is seeking for qualified Shipping & Receiving candidates to join the team.
Monday - Friday - Overtime as needed
Schedule: 7am-3:30pm
Pay rate: $24.00
Qualifications:
· 4 years of experience in a shipping/receiving role in a manufacturing or machine shop environment (metal fabrication or grinding preferred).
· Forklift experience preferred, certification not required.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate material handling equipment.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Basic understanding of machining terminology and part handling is a plus
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping/Receiving Clerk to manage the incoming and outgoing shipments at our metal grinding machine shop. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial shipping and receiving, be familiar with metal components, and have strong organizational and communication skills. This position plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring timely delivery of parts and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive Incoming Shipments:
· Unload deliveries using forklifts.
· Inspect incoming materials for damage, quantity, quality, and dimensional accuracy using calipers, micrometers, measuring tape, or other precision measuring tools.
· Verify packing slips, bills of lading, and purchase orders.
Prepare Outgoing Shipments:
· Package and crate finished metal parts securely for shipment.
· Ensure correct part numbers, quantities, and customer requirements are met.
Inventory Management:
· Store incoming materials in appropriate storage areas.
· Track material usage and report discrepancies.
Documentation & Reporting:
· Maintain accurate shipping and receiving logs.
· Report damaged or missing items to the appropriate personnel.
Safety & Compliance:
· Follow shop safety guidelines, especially when handling heavy metal components.
· Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and in compliance with OSHA standards.
· Maintain a clean and organized shipping/receiving area.
