Job Description
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs specific assigned duties in providing patient care of the medical patient in accordance with established SRH and Nursing Policies and Standard Work. Assists staff by performing functions such as delegated aspects of patient care, clerical duties, transcribing physician orders, maintaining supplies and repairs, attending to communications, and operating a computer. Communicates findings as indicated to appropriate person(s). Serves as a resource person for other SRH/nursing personnel to resolve word-related issues. Performs any other job related duties as requested by Nurse Manager or Department Director.
High school graduate or equivalent. Must have medical terminology course OR a formal medical secretary course OR completed a 2-year Health Science Technology Program. Previous medical field experience preferred. Must have computer experience. Must have SC Nurse Aide Certification OR passed fundamentals in RN/LPN School of Nursing OR completion of Surg Tech or EMT course OR completed Patient Care Tech course (with CNA certification). BLS certified.
