TITLE : Safety Manager

Comp: Up to $110/yr

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Maintenance Director direct hire position in Indianapolis, IN

Responsibilities:

• Conduct on-site safety inspections at heavy highway project locations to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Oversee the administrative aspects of safety management, including accident investigations, employee training, documentation, and regulatory paperwork.
• Collaborate with third-party safety organizations to ensure field operations adhere to safety standards.
• Verify proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and assess equipment operation to minimize risks.
• Lead and facilitate safety training programs, including OSHA 10/30, ATSAA Flagger, and CPR/First Aid certification.
• Continuously evaluate and implement strategies to reduce workplace injuries and mitigate potential hazards.
• Review and audit Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Conduct safety training sessions during off-peak construction periods, such as winter months or inclement weather days.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in health and safety management or a related field.
• Extensive experience in heavy highway or heavy commercial construction, particularly involving large machinery such as cranes, bulldozers, and excavators.
• Certified trainer in CPR, First Aid, PPE usage, and Flagging.
• Possession of OSHA 10 and 30 certifications.
