Employment Type: Full-time, On-site

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional evenings/weekends)

Start Date: ASAP

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and continue building the safety function for a fast-growing construction company. This individual will manage all aspects of job site safety, oversee and train the safety team, and ensure the company's safety policies and procedures are compliant and effectively enforced across all job sites.

This is a high-impact role with the opportunity to shape safety culture, collaborate with leadership, and help grow the team. The Safety Manager will be expected to be in the field periodically, building trust with operations teams and reinforcing a proactive safety mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the safety program for the entire company across multiple job sites.
  • Review, develop, and enforce safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Provide on-site support and training to crews and project managers.
  • Manage and mentor the current safety team (currently one direct report) with plans to grow the team.
  • Deliver training sessions (e.g., OSHA, toolbox talks, site-specific protocols).
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards (OSHA 500/510 preferred).
  • Maintain and track safety-related documentation and reporting.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field staff to promote a culture of safety.
  • Manage a six-figure safety budget.
  • Support incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to field teams—not an enforcer, but a partner.

Qualifications:

  • 10–15 years of experience in safety, with a focus on heavy civil construction.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety regulations.
  • OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 510 certification required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and mentor a safety team.
  • Hands-on experience managing safety on active construction sites.
  • Experience managing a budget (approx. $200K+).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to influence a strong safety culture across teams.

Benefits & Compensation:

  • Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience)
  • Bonus opportunities
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Paid time off (PTO)

What Makes This Opportunity Stand Out:

  • Direct impact on shaping the company's growing safety culture
  • Strong support from leadership with a safety-first mindset
  • Company is investing in growth—new corporate HQ, expanding teams

If you're a safety professional with a passion for people, fieldwork, and proactive leadership—and you're ready to lead and grow a safety program from the inside out—we’d love to hear from you.
