Makers Market started 10 years ago as a holiday pop-up to feature local artisans in a way that was more shopper-friendly than a weekend craft show. You may have seen our stores in Park Meadows, Southwest Plaza, Cherry Creek, Flatirons, Briargate, Aspen Grove, Chapel Hills, and the Castle Rock Outlets.

Over the years, we have showcased 1000’s of talented local vendors. In 2015 we had an opportunity to turn our pop-ups into a year-round store with an amazing build out of Southwest Plaza Mall. This has been our homebase ever since. We also have a store upstairs in the Park Meadows Mall. Each location is special and unique and offers products you won’t find in big box stores. The Makers Market at Park Meadows is looking for up to three retail team members to join our 28 person strong team. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, punctual, computer-savvy and reliable.

Our stores are the epitome of small business. Imagine Etsy, in person. We are home to more than 150 local vendors, artisans, makers and creators. Our stores offer shoppers a chance to support these vendors with your help! You'll find the job rewarding in many ways...you're helping small business, you're keeping local artisans dreams alive and giving them a beautiful brick and mortar store to call home AND you're working with a fun, positive team!!!

We offer consistent predictable schedules, with up to 8 hour consecutive shifts, if desired. You can also qualify for employee discounts and bonuses!

Responsibilities:

• Welcome customers by greeting them and offering them assistance.
• Direct customers by explaining the store concept and asking open-ended questions. We are home to more than 150 local makers, creators and vendors. We're not Target or the local grocery store. You need to have a passion for small business and care about supporting our vendors.
• Advise customers by providing information on products. There's a lot to learn about each vendor. You need to have a desire to learn and absorb!
• Process payments by totaling purchases; process checks, cash, and store or other credit cards.
• Contribute to team effort by problem solving and working towards monthly sales goals.
• Use judgment to solve customer problems. Can you think on your feet and work to find solutions? Awesome!!
• Maintain scheduling commitments.
• Your shifts will require you to stand on your feet all day and move around. You may climb ladders, undress mannequins or unpack boxes.
• You need to be computer and tech savvy. We use online sales systems, sound systems, label printers, credit card readers, etc. We appreciate quick learners!

Qualifications

• Friendly and outgoing personality
• Excellent verbal skills
• Able to problem solve as issues arise
• Retail experience a plus
