PitchBook is looking for a Product Design Intern to assist Product Design team members in all phases of the user-centered design process to create meaningful and impactful experiences for our customers. This internship will give you hands-on experience in conducting user research, exploring design concepts, creating prototypes and final design solutions, and validating your work with end users. At the end of the process, you will have work you can add to your portfolio, an understanding of what it takes to bring enterprise digital products to market, and experience with a diverse community of customer-obsessed Design, Product, Data, Engineering, and Customer team members. Our Summer Internship is full-time program (40 hours per week) running from June - August 2025 (specific dates vary by office location). Please note, at this time PitchBook does not provide relocation assistance for our internships.
Primary Job Responsibilities: - Partner with Product Design and Product Management team members to transform business and customer requirements into effective, efficient, and elegant product solutions
- Conduct user research and data analysis to understand user needs, behaviors, and motivators that lead to engagement and creation of customer value
- Partner with product and design team members to develop design strategies and concepts to enhance and optimize existing features and create new product features to meet customer needs
- Deliver simple, elegant, and innovative designs expressed in sketches, diagrams, prototypes, and final design executions
- Validate the usability and efficacy of your concepts and design solutions with customers and stakeholders
- Participate in team activities such as sprint ceremonies, brainstorms, and design reviews
- Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
- Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested
Required Qualifications - Currently enrolled as a junior in a higher education program (college or university): Digital Design, Human-Centered Design, Psychology, and related majors preferred
- To be considered for the intern position, applicant must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire. PitchBook will not consider candidates for this position who require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., H-1B status). The company may in its sole discretion extend your contract for a further fixed term period(s) to be agreed by you and the Company
Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of standard user-centered design practices and methods. One year of work or classroom experience evolving design solutions from concept to prototypes
- Knowledge of standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or Axure
- A portfolio demonstrating experience designing digital experiences from concept to high-fidelity designs
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Intellectual curiosity, structured thinking, and a collaboration-driven interaction style
- A clear, professional, and informative communication style
- Humility, enthusiasm, and ability to build relationships, foster trust, and develop a shared understanding
- Interest in the financial industry is a plus
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily

Compensation
- Annual hourly rate: $22/hour
Working Conditions: We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it's helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3+ days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.
The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
