Leads with Love, Built on Trust

The Role

We are seeking a very special human being to support a bright, warm, and determined young woman with cerebral palsy who is living independently and attending college.

This is not just a job—it’s a partnership. You’ll become a vital part of her support team, working closely with her and her dedicated mom to ensure she continues her path toward a happy, fulfilling, and independent life. This is a long-term role and the family hopes you will be with their daughter for many years!

You will be trained by her current assistant, who has been with her for nearly two years and will help you transition smoothly into this trusted role.

Our Ideal Candidate:

This young woman—and her family—must be able to trust and rely on you. That trust is earned, and consistency is everything.

You are:

  • Compassionate, with a naturally kind heart and strong soul

  • Reliable and shows up consistently—emotionally and physically—day in, day out

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and on top of everything

  • Tech-savvy and can navigate systems, apps, and emails with ease

  • Emotionally steady, calm, and able to keep things on track—even when issues may arise

  • Patient, empathetic, and genuinely love helping others succeed

  • Proactive and resourceful—you don’t wait to be told what to do, you figure things out

  • A clear communicator who can collaborate closely with the family, professionals, and university staff

  • Thick-skinned but soft-hearted—you don’t take things personally and always lead with love

What You'll Support Her With:

 Daily Support:

  • Help with mobility (walker/wheelchair), personal care, and meals

Academic Support:

  • Track assignments, assist with research, outlining, editing, and formatting

  • Attend classes and take notes, if needed

  • Communicate/coordinate with professors, tutors, and university staff

  • Help her stay organized and on top of her workload

Medical & Health Coordination:

  • Schedule and manage all doctors’ appointments and therapies, ensuring handicap accessibility ahead of time

  • Organize medical records and referrals

  • Handle insurance claims, out-of-network reimbursements, and appeals

  • Communicate with healthcare providers, therapist, and psychiatrist when needed

Emotional Support:

  • Stay calm and grounded if she’s overwhelmed, help her stay on track

  • Help her regulate and return to center

  • Be a steady, grounding presence she can rely on

Household & Life Management:

  • Track expenses, pay rent and bills, manage reimbursements

  • Handle basic meal prep

  • Coordinate with the housekeeper and home maintenance tasks

  • Answer calls, emails, and texts—both personal and academic

  • Assist with travel planning and ensure accessibility accommodations

Personal Care & Goals:

  • Assist with light grooming (e.g., brushing hair, washing hands/face, applying sunscreen)

  • Support her in reaching personal lifestyle goals

  • Celebrate small victories with her

Pet Care

  • Help care for her sweet, small dog

Why This Matters

This is a pivotal time in her life. She is growing, thriving, and navigating new responsibilities—but she can’t do it alone. Her current personal assistant has been a rock, and as she transitions to someone new, your role will be essential in keeping her momentum going.

You will be her support system, her advocate, and her cheerleader. You will also be a trusted partner to her mom, who is incredibly loving and involved. Together, your shared goal is to help her daughter stay on a steady path of growth, resilience, and joy.

If you are a person who finds deep purpose in helping others live fully, independently, and with dignity, this could be a life-changing role for both of you.

To Apply:

Please send a short note introducing yourself and why this role speaks to you.Include an updated resume with any and all relevant experience working in a role/roles as a personal assistant. Also, it doesn't have to be in a personal assistant capacity, but any experience with special needs populations would be a huge bonus as well! What matters most is your heart, your work ethic, and your desire to support someone on her journey.
