Family Law & Divorce Mediator – Part or Full Time

Santa Cruz, CA | Boutique Family Law Mediation Practice

Are you a compassionate, skilled California attorney with an interest in resolving conflict outside the courtroom? We are a busy and successful boutique mediation practice based in Santa Cruz, CA seeking a part-time or full-time Family Law and Divorce Mediator to join our team.

About the Position:

You will work closely with the founding attorney-mediator, Pascha Rose, supporting her significant and growing caseload. This role includes conducting mediation sessions, drafting agreements, preparing disclosure documents and other court forms, and guiding clients through the divorce process with empathy and clarity. There is also potential for select family law litigation work, if desired.

Requirements:

• Active California Bar license
• 1–7 years of legal experience
• Some prior family law experience is required
• Strong interest in mediation and alternative dispute resolution
• Solid financial understanding and literacy (e.g., familiarity with marital balance sheets, support calculations, division of assets and debts, retirement matters and related tax considerations)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage clients with professionalism and compassion

Preferred Qualifications:

• Formal mediation training or experience in family law mediation
• Familiarity with Marital Settlement Agreements and PDDs and other typical family law documents
• Solid financial literacy regarding family law matters
• Santa Cruz County or nearby local experience a plus
