Responsible for the day to day operations of the hospital-owned/managed physician practice along with filling the front desk patient services representative role.
Works in conjunction with the Market Practice Manager to plan, organize and manage day to day operations of the physician practice office.
Assists Market Practice Manager with staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, and student engagements.
Assists Market Practice Manager in monitoring departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations. Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.
Checks patients in and completes the intake process to include insurance verification and updating demographic information.
Collects appropriate co-pays and communicates any financial liability to the patient.
Organizes and sets up appointments for some of the providers as needed. Follows up on special function needs.
Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED
Associate degree in related field preferred
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Minimum Work Experience
Two (2) years medical office experience - Required. One (1) year management/supervisory experience - Preferred
Required Skills
Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association training center is required within 90 days of employment, if not current upon hire
