Essential Functions & Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Adapt to various departments within MWHC to meet immediate needs.
• Direct and coordinate nursing care, overseeing both licensed and unlicensed personnel to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Engage patients, families, and health team members in care planning, education, and discharge processes.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure a cohesive plan of care.
• Assist leadership in defining excellence in patient care and contribute to service improvements.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and integrate performance enhancement into care delivery.
• Support daily operations to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Provide valuable input to the Nurse Manager regarding unit needs.
• Engage in committees to help shape nursing and hospital policies.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Graduated from an accredited nursing program with no prior Registered Nurse experience.
• Possess a valid RN License from Virginia or a reciprocal compact state.
• BSN is preferred.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR certification required at hire.
• NIHSS (Bluecloud) certification required within 90 days of hire.
