UPMC McKeesport seeks multiple Medical Technologists in McKeesport, PA to deliver standard and experimental diagnostics, testing, and analysis for patients, to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning; identify facts affecting measurements and highlight results that are abnormal or deviate from those expected; analyze and verify QC data, make judgments concerning the results, complete required documentation, and take appropriate actions to maintain accuracy and precision; administer tests and conduct analysis utilizing the latest in diagnostic and operational equipment and technologies and will respond to inquiries about specimen requirements, methods, specificity and sensitivity or test results; perform procedural and technical calculations for each therapy and treatment plan, simulate test analyses, and test instruments for compliance with prescribed procedures and standards; utilize specialized testing protocols, state-of-the instrumentation and analytical systems, and monitor and evaluate the quality of testing; prepare and maintain necessary records, and report as needed, such as but not limited to: Quality Control, patient safety event reports, and exception reports; assure the appropriate and prompt reporting of STAT and ASAP reports, critical values, and expeditious reporting of all results and normal ranges and participate in the educational development of clinical laboratory science students or other health care workers, via didactic and/or clinical instruction; adhere to hospital policies and to various federal and state laws, regulations, and guidelines, and perform additional job related duties as assigned. Day, Night and Evening shifts available.

Job Responsibilities:

· Identify facts affecting measurements and highlight results that are abnormal or deviate from those expected;

· Analyze and verify QC data, make judgments concerning the results, complete required documentation, and take appropriate actions to maintain accuracy and precision;

· Administer tests and conduct analysis utilizing the latest in diagnostic and operational equipment and technologies and will respond to inquiries about specimen requirements, methods, specificity and sensitivity or test results;

· Perform procedural and technical calculations for each therapy and treatment plan, simulate test analyses, and test instruments for compliance with prescribed procedures and standards;

• Bachelor of Science degree, or foreign equivalent, in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
