Job Summary:

Job Summary

Serves as a Medical Assistant in a practice or Urgent Care by primarily assisting providers and acting as a backup for reception. Clinical care provided to patients is within the scope of practice defined for medical assistants and as directed by the provider.

Job Requirements

• Certification by a nationally recognized organization which includes a competency exam.
• Those organizations include the American Association of Medical Assistants, the National Center for Competency Testing, and the National Health Career Association.
• Graduation from an accredited 2-year Medical Assistant program is preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Working knowledge of office practice and procedures.
• Handle multiple priorities.
• Computer skills.
• Must have excellent patient relations and interpersonal skills.
• Must read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.
• Effective use of telephone skills.
• Medical Terminology required.
