Title : Mechanical Construction Project Engineer (Civil & Military Works)

Location : West Point, NY

Duration : 12+ months contact

Day-To-Day Tasks

The project requires the client (i.e. you) to perform the basic construction management disciplines (architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical) onsite—both under direction and independently.
Support the Prime contractor in both a supportive and technical capacity, particularly in the role of a Mechanical Engineer.
Specific tasks may include:
Onsite management support
Record keeping, budget tracking, and schedule monitoring
Inspection, progress reporting, safety monitoring, and meeting attendance
Testing and responding to information requests
Commissioning in collaboration with in-house personnel
Design phase services within the basic disciplines of mechanical engineering
Note: Design services are incidental to and in support of the Construction Management Services performed by the A/E.

What You Need to Succeed

Mechanical engineering degree or background ( must be included to be considered )
Experience in construction/building ( large-scale projects are a plus )
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work:
Remotely
Onsite
With the client team (note: no physical office in NY)
HUGE plus: Electrical engineering experience
HUGE plus: Experience with both Military Construction and Civil Works projects
HUGE plus: Knowledge of:
Corrosion control
Seismic upgrades
Hazardous materials abatement
Plus (not required): Civil Works experience in:
Dredging and beach fill operations
Shoreline protection
Hurricane and storm damage reduction
Flood risk management
Beach erosion control
Wetlands creation
Locks and dams
