To continue laying the groundwork, challenge what's possible and celebrate the power of inclusion, we seek to partner with driven individuals who are ready to elevate their career with us. *SUMMARY:*Responsible for managing marine engineering operations for a specific vessel fleet or region, including, but not limited to supervision of employees performance and development, equipment maintenance and modification, and administration of assigned budget(s). *GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Ensure work is being performed in compliance with company standards as well as local, state, and/or federal guidelines and regulations. Analyze services provided by vendors, negotiate rates and recommend changes when appropriate. Evaluate shipyard bid packages and recommend awards. Assist in maintaining staffing levels of trained mariners. Assist with development, enhancement and implementation of policies, procedures and vessel standards. Assist the Fleet Director to develop annual budgets and forecasts work and funding requirements for the fiscal year including planned, emergent and drydocking costs that may be required throughout the year. Participate/analyze monthly financial review process. Reviews of monthly budget reports with Superintendents and Operations team for the assigned fleet and provide the update to the Fleet Director for any additional fund request and forecast the cash flow for the future months. Monitors history and pricing for major repair periods (drydocks) and regulatory recommendations/findings. Works with vessel Superintendents to develop comprehensive dry dock or out of service period technical specifications. Follow the company drydocking process and work with Superintendents to ensure drydocking preparations for the assigned fleet are on track and as per the process timelines. Assist the Fleet Director to develop operations and engineering procedures and best practices to attain cost savings and improve vessel material condition. Follow up with Superintendents for the weekly and monthly engineering updates, arrange for regular vessel visits with the Superintendents to review the vessel material condition and performance of shipboard team to address any concerns and provide the update for the fleet director. Monitors compliance with Regulatory, USCG requirements and Class agencies and liaises with agencies. Plans and coordinates action items for execution. *EDUCATION:*Bachelors degree in nautical science, marine transportation, marine engineering or a related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education with Maritime experience. *EXPERIENCE:*5-10 years of related marine engineering experience in a supervisory capacity or as Fleet technical manager, Engineering manager or Technical superintendent/ Port Engineer. Experience with tankers/ petroleum vessels is preferred. Experience with liquified natural gas (LNG), or other cryogenic liquids, or steam turbine vessels is preferred. *TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:*Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word. Proficiency in maintenance, repair, and ship management software, such as ABS Nautical Systems 5 is preferred. *COMPETENCIES:* Strong understanding of domestic and international shipping regulatory requirements, including US Coast Guard, OCIMF (TMSA and SIRE), SOLAS, MARPOL, Flag & Port State, etc. as well as a good understanding of the energy transportation business and industry. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to train and direct the work of others. Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment. Knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations, protocols, and procedures as they pertain to environmental health standards. Knowledge of procurement, budgeting and administrative management. Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of marine engineering. *OTHER:*Valid Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) from the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Licensed as a marine engineer by the U.S. Coast Guard (preferred). Subject to a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check to obtain your driving history. *JOB SCOPE:*Position impacts a single business unit/segment. *WORKING CONDITIONS:*Works both inside an office environment and also outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders.
