Seeking Maintenance II - Bellingham, MA

Monday thru Friday - 4:00 am to 12:30 pm

Position Overview:

This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and will be responsible for chocking of trailer wheels, locking operating Polaris utility vehicle, daily yard checks, assisting the yard jockey with daily tasks, and assisting in cleaning the yard daily. Position requires working outside in all weather conditions and temperatures (e.g., Summer, Winter, Rain, etc).

Responsibilities

• Chocking and un-chocking of all trailers on the dock.
• Locking and un-locking of all trailer gladhands on the dock.
• Correctly placing trailer stands under all milk trailers being unloaded.
• Compliance with all NDCP receiving policies.
• Communicating and relaying instructions to over the road and NDCP drivers.
• Clear and prompt communication with all team members.
• Ensure that the yard is kept clean of debris and trash.
• Cleans up any spills or breakages in the yard and disposes of it per government and NDCP food safety requirements.
• Assist in the orderly maintenance & general housekeeping of the yard. May perform similar duties in warehouse and office areas as assigned.
• Follows all safety rules and completes all duties as assigned.
• Safely operate all equipment utilized to perform tasks associated with role.
• Safe operation of Fork truck, clamp truck, Floor scrubber, battery changing station & ride on/walk behind pallet jack.
• Maintain Company standards for safety, attendance, and conduct.
• Maintain proper and safe lifting techniques.
• Perform daily safety inspections on material handling equipment.
• Immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions or accidents.
• Assist in the orderly maintenance & general housekeeping of the warehouse. May perform similar duties in office areas and yard as assigned.
• Attend all required Company meetings.
• Follow NDCP's Good Distribution Practices.
• Cross train in other functions and perform other warehouse duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate shrink-wrap machine and manually shrink-warp product
• Ability to operate powered industrial trucks (forklift, pallet jack, high lift) and Polaris utility vehicle
• Ability to work flexible days and hours. Schedule may include weekends and holidays
• High school diploma or equivalent education and/or experience
• Desire and ability to work in a collaborative work environment
• 1 year of warehouse or maintenance experience preferred
• Must be able to obtain certification in Crown certificate program
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to follow simple instructions
• Must be punctual and reliable
• Willingness to learn
• Ability to work without supervision
• Ability to work flexible schedule
• Attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills

Physical Demands

• Climate: Ability to work in various temperature-controlled areas (Freezer -10 degrees), Cooler 34 degrees) and Dry (ambient temps)
• Physical: Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
