Salary: $140,000 - $200,000 per year
A bit about us: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Legal Billing Manager to join our team. This is a permanent, hybrid role that offers the flexibility of working remotely with periodic on-site requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our legal billing function, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in our financial operations. This role involves working closely with attorneys, managing the billing staff, and overseeing the implementation of rate code procedures. This will be three days in office in Chicago, IL and this candidate will ideally have legal billing leadership.

Job Details Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire legal billing process to ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
- Utilize eBilling Hub to streamline billing processes and improve efficiency.
- Train, manage, and mentor the billing staff, fostering a team-oriented and productive work environment.
- Partner with attorneys to understand and implement specific client billing requirements and guidelines.
- Develop and implement rate code procedures to ensure compliance with client agreements and industry regulations.
- Manage and monitor accounts receivable (A/R), ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-functional understanding and improve overall financial operations.
- Analyze billing and financial data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal billing role, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Proficiency in eBilling Hub or similar legal billing software.
- Solid understanding of rate code procedures and legal billing regulations.
- Experience in managing and training billing staff.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively partner with attorneys and other stakeholders.
- Proven track record of managing accounts receivable (A/R) and improving collection rates.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Prior experience in the legal industry is highly preferred.
