Now they're looking for a Junior Underwriter to join their team and learn the business from the ground up.

Role Overview

As a Junior Underwriter, you'll evaluate merchant cash advance applications, analyze financial data, and help determine which deals get approved. This is an entry-level salaried role perfect for someone who's smart, analytical, and quick on their feet. You don't need underwriting experience. We'll train you. You just need to be good with numbers and able to learn fast.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Applications : Review merchant bank statements, credit reports, and business financials to assess creditworthiness and risk.
• Make Decisions Quickly : Evaluate deals efficiently and recommend approvals, declines, or additional conditions.
• Work with Data : Use Excel and underwriting software to calculate metrics like average daily balance, NSF activity, cash flow trends, and repayment capacity.
• Collaborate with Sales Team : Communicate with ISOs and brokers to clarify deal structures, request additional documentation, and move deals forward.
• Learn the Business : Absorb MCA underwriting principles, risk assessment strategies, and industry best practices through hands-on training.
• Stay Sharp : Handle high volume in a fast-paced environment where speed and accuracy both matter.

Qualifications

• No Experience Required : This is a junior role. We're looking for smart, teachable people who can learn quickly.
• Analytical Mindset : You're good with numbers, understand basic financial concepts, and can spot patterns in data.
• Quick Learner : You pick things up fast and don't need to be told twice.
• Attention to Detail : You catch mistakes, notice inconsistencies, and don't let things slip through the cracks.
• Excel Proficiency : Comfortable working in spreadsheets (formulas, pivot tables, basic financial analysis).
• Strong Communication : Able to explain underwriting decisions clearly to internal teams and external partners.
• Local to Brooklyn, NY : This role is hybrid with remote days, but requires some in-office presence for training and collaboration.
