POSITION SUMMARY Responsible, as the first-line operational supervisor, for training and leading team members in consistently delivering an exceptional guest experience, including ensuring great tasting/quality food, executing on 20/20 guest expectations, and ensuring compliance with all Jack in the Box procedures, systems and standards. Well-Trained – Always says "YES" to the guest and works with the team to help solve problems; follows the 3-steps (Listens, Says Sorry, Makes it Right) if a problem occurs; uses JIB Smart Selling standards as appropriate. Trains and coaches team members using the Guest Expectations training materials. Models being calm and productive during busy times. Coaches team members to ensure they are knowledgeable on job requirements. Neat and Well-Groomed – Holds team members accountable to the JIB uniform and grooming standards and coaches them when non-compliant. Models looking nice and professional; shirt is tucked in; hair is contained via a hat, visor and/or hairnet, and uniform is clean and unwrinkled. Friendly – Models acknowledging each guest with a smile, treating everyone with care and respect, always having a positive and friendly attitude. Coaches team members on having a positive, friendly attitude and behaviors. Models and coaches team members on the JIB Hospitality Model. Well-Staffed – Maintains restaurant cleanliness (interior/exterior), helps with order taking and cashiering during busy times, and leads the team to be ready and prepared to serve guests as they arrive. Follows JIB Restaurant Policies and Rules regarding scheduled hours, breaks, and timekeeping. Food Tastes Great – Monitors quality to ensure food looks and tastes great and is of high quality; coaches team members to meet taste, appearance and temperature standards; retrains as needed. Consistent and Quick Service – Models urgency, leads and coaches the team to provide consistent, fast service; assists with order taking and cashiering during busy times. Order Accuracy – Models how to ensure orders are accurate; follows up on errors and uses them as learning opportunities; holds employees accountable to minimal order errors and retrains as needed. Food Safety – Follows all food safety/quality policies and procedures; performs hand washing and glove procedures; completes the Food Safety Checklist each shift. Brand Ambassador – Has passion for the business and pride in Jack in the Box; inspires team members to embrace the brand; represents Jack in the Box proudly. Focus on the Guest – Treats guests and employees with care and respect; reads and anticipates guest needs; handles guest complaints with a positive, solution-oriented approach; keeps the guest as the number one priority. Team Skills – Works well with others, leads by example, maintains a positive attitude, stays calm under pressure, and leads diverse teams; coordinates resources to cover all roles and ensures compliance with JIB standards and labor laws. Commitment – Thrives in a fast-paced environment; maintains professionalism, food quality, and restaurant cleanliness; takes corrective action when needed; trains others on products, systems, and policies; manages cash handling and adheres to policies and standards. Front of Restaurant – Supports guest service (Dine In/Drive-Thru); responsible for order taking, POS entry, payment handling, order assembly, and maintaining cleanliness; assists in interior and exterior duties to ensure a great guest experience. Supervision – Manages workstation operations, guest service, and leadership functions; trains team members, ensures compliance with procedures and food safety, and provides feedback and recognition. Back of Restaurant Grill – Reads grill video monitor, prepares items per procedure, maintains equipment and cleanliness. Assembly – Reads video monitor, assembles products with correct ingredients and presentation, ensures quality before delivery. Prep – Defrosts and stores products properly, ensures FIFO, maintains neat prep areas and compliance with safety standards. Fryer – Reads fryer monitor, prepares fryer items, maintains cleanliness of fry station and related equipment. Interior – Cleans dishes, sweeps, empties trash, maintains overall cleanliness and equipment. Exterior – Cleans exterior areas, drives drive-thru and parking lot areas, ensures cleanliness. Receiving & Storage – Receives and stores products following procedures. Qualifications Experience – 6 consecutive months JIB experience and 100% certified in all workstations for internal promotes, or 1-year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail customer service environment. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Must be at least 18; complete Team Leader training classes; in some states ServSafe certification may be required. Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking); ability to interact with diverse guests; strong interpersonal, math, organizational, and planning skills; self-starter; basic PC skills; demonstrated integrity and ethical behavior. Physical Requirements – Ability to stand/walk 90-95% of shift; lift/carry 15-25 lbs; listen to orders, operate POS, read video monitors.
