Nate Holyoke Builders , a high-end builder specializing in architecturally designed homes, is seeking an  HR Manager to be based in their Trenton, Maine office.

Responsibilities of the HR Manager:

  • Recruitment – oversee the applicant process and recruit job applicants to fill all levels of job openings.
  • Employee on-boarding/off-boarding – Organize and manage on-boarding and off-boarding of employees, new employee orientation.
  • Employee Relations – Partner with the senior leaders to make recommendations for corrective action & continuous improvement. Respond to employee relation issues.
  • HR Policy Management – Partner with senior leaders to review, update, implement, and communicate HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations.
  • Benefit Administration – Oversee benefit employee enrollment, benefit changes, as well as broker & providers for accuracy/efficiency.
  • Payroll – Act as a backup to processing weekly payroll.
  • HR Compliance – ensure employee files are compliant. Stay up-to-date and comply with changes in HR legislation.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements of the HR Manager:

  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience in human resources required.
  • Extensive knowledge of municipal, state, and federal HR laws, benefit management, and labor relations.
  • Knowledge of wage and salary administration, classification systems, and management evaluation systems.
  • Strong ability to conduct comprehensive and complex investigations and internal/external audits.
  • Must be highly motivated and prepared to work at a significant level of independence.
  • Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Able to exercise sound judgment in the application of policies and procedures.
  • Able to handle confidential information with a high level of discretion and establish and maintain essential records and files.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to commute to the Trenton, ME office Monday to Friday.
