WE ARE LOCATED IN MADOC, ON, CANADA

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety on our job sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, aggregate crushing & screening equipment and other construction machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Conduct inspections to identify equipment defects and recommend necessary repairs.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation for each piece of equipment.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to prioritize and schedule repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with new equipment technologies and best practices in maintenance and repair.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic (5 years minimum) or similar role. Red Seal 421A certification would be an asset. Experience with highway trucks and / or 310T certification would also be an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy equipment systems, including hydraulics, electrical, and diesel engines. Caterpillar, Komatsu & Volvo knowledge would be an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract. Ontario G as a minimum, DZ or AZ would be an asset.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy equipment parts and tools.
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions and on-site environments.
  • Dexterity to perform tasks in tight spaces and on large machinery.
