THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Service Repair Technician with programming, troubleshooting, and repair capabilities and experience. This position will work closely with our service team, and clients to ensure our critical life safety systems are repaired in an efficient manner to maintain their overall performance. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of system troubleshooting and repair. Customer and employee interface require a high degree of effective human relations. Communication skills, both verbal and written are important elements of the position.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING ( and doing well!)

• Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing fire life safety systems, including conventional and addressable solutions.
• Use a variety of troubleshooting tools to analyze systems and detect fault conditions.
• Ensure maximum system detection and alarm coverage when effecting repairs.
• Produce repair reports in accordance with NFPA for customer acceptance and billing information.
• Responsible for programming systems via laptop computers.
• Responsible for vehicle inventory and repair tools.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other technicians.
• Customer-focused, skilled in project and people management.
• Ability to manage project repair scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality.
• Proficient in issue resolution.
• Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of fire industry.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
• Ability to travel occasionally overnight as needed.

WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU

• Two years of experience in a repair technician role within the fire detection and protection environment.
• Knowledge of current fire alarm systems.
• Ability to program and repair fire alarm systems using a laptop computer.
• Knowledgeable in NFPA 72 code requirements.
• Ability to read fire system design drawings.
