- Description of the Position
Responsible for keeping the facility properly maintained, clean and safe and oversees the company’s grounds, buildings and equipment to ensure that a workspace is safe and functional. The role combines management tasks such as supervising contractors and more strategic responsibilities such as managing budgets and advising on long-term utilities efficiency.
- Essential Responsibilities
- Overall responsible for building and grounds maintenance
- Develop, monitor and manage adequate facility maintenance and repair program including proper documentation
- Ensure that the facility is clean and maintained according to company standards / policies.
- Ensure facility always complies with all applicable regulations
- Responsible for development and control of departmental budget including cost related to repairs, maintenance, utilities and capital improvements.
- Manages supplier contracts including definition of scope / make or buy decisions / contractor selection in close cooperation with purchasing dept.
- Recommend & Implement improvements for processes / equipment / design modifications
- Ensure that company goals incl environmental are achieved.
- Support company activities and events where technical support is needed
- Ensures immaculate appearance incl furniture, design elements, signage etc. in close cooperation with the Executive Office & Communications Specialist
- Set targets for employees / monitor their performance / develop employees further
- Develop & Manage security concept /system in line with LH group standards
- Manage facility mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and civil development projects
- Leads the preparation of the facilities for extreme weather conditions such as Hurricanes etc.
- Negotiate contracts with service providers in cooperation with purchasing dept.
- Inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations compliance and coordinating renovations and updates.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing support and training to team members.
- Manage and maintain the inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.

- Maintains working area clean and organized.
- Comply and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, local and federal regulations.
- Perform other tasks and projects, as requested.
- Ensure adherence to compliance culture requirements.
- Education, Skills, and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent professional level experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or equivalent related functions
- Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations
- Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management.
- Proficiency in facilities management software or CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Experience in leadership positions.
- Project Management skills.
- Experience in contract management
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Good people skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Flexibility according to workload during the project phases.
- Ability to generate innovative ideas and identify potential for improvement within his working area.
- Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
