Data for Progress (DFP) is a leading progressive think tank and polling firm that equips movements with data-driven tools to deliver a more equitable future. We provide polling, data-driven messaging, and policy generation for the progressive movement, and we advise campaigns and candidates with the tools they need to win. Our core mission is to democratize access to timely, accurate, and effective public opinion research to facilitate social change. Since our founding in 2018, we have become a key partner to movement organizations and a trusted source for shaping policy and communication strategies at the federal, state, and local levels. The Opportunity
Data for Progress is at a pivotal moment, and we are seeking a visionary and experienced leader to serve as our next Executive Director. This is an opportunity to lead a dynamic, mission-driven staff and build upon our success to steer the organization into its next phase of impact and growth. The new Executive Director will have the chance to set our strategic direction, expand our fundraising efforts, and serve as a prominent public voice for the organization, ensuring DFP plays a major role in progressive and Democratic landscapes leading into 2026, 2028, and beyond.
The ideal candidate will be a leader who is trusted by our progressive, unionized staff and is a strategic power player in D.C. circles. They will inherit a strong, collaborative team culture and will be tasked with building on DFP’s success and charting a clear, stable vision for the future.

Compensation & Benefits
Annual compensation for this role includes a salary range of $155,000 - $180,000 as well as a generous benefits package, including medical, vision and dental insurance provided by the employer and matching 401k. This role is full-time and fully remote, with a very strong preference for a DC-based leader. DC-based staff have the option to work in person at DFP’s DC office.
