This recruitment is for a K-8 general music teacher, who will provide music instruction at Poet Christian School within the Tracy Unified School District in Tracy, CA.

This recruitment is for the 2024-2025 school year. 

Requirements / Educational Qualifications

1. California Single Subject Music Credential or willings to get credentialed.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of music theory, history, and performance techniques.
• Proficiency in teaching general music.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement music lesson plans that align with state standards and school curriculum.
• Teach various aspects of music including music theory, history, performance, and appreciation.
• Provide instruction in general music.
• Incorporate a variety of musical styles and cultural traditions in the curriculum.
• Encourage students to think independently and express original ideas.
• Provide structured learning experiences to help students achieve district educational goals and objectives.
• Evaluate students' academic growth, maintain records, prepare reports, and communicate progress with parents.
• Foster positive student-teacher and student-student interactions.

Working Conditions

• Standard school hours with occasional school/district events, or professional development.
• Classroom and school settings, require movement and interaction with students throughout the day.
