Role: Electrical Engineer - Power


Join a major integrated petrochemical manufacturing facility as an Electrical Engineer within the Equipment & Reliability Engineering Department, where you'll be responsible for specification, design, and maintenance of electrical equipment for all plant operations including field installations. This critical role offers the opportunity to work with an industry and regional leader, providing technical support for low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems while developing maintenance and reliability strategies to ensure equipment performance. Investigate electrical equipment failures, recommend actions to enhance system reliability, and lead electrical plant modifications including switchgear and relay upgrades, MCC installations, UPS systems, and substation battery systems. Support front-end development, cost estimation, design, construction, and startup for major projects while working with a diverse team across engineering, maintenance, operations, and management levels in a dynamic refinery environment.


Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar field
• 3+ years of Electrical Power experience with focus on industrial Electrical Power Systems
• Experience with electrical systems up to 13.8kV REQUIRED
• Experience with high voltage substations at 69kV or 138kV is a significant plus
• Professional experience within oil refinery, petrochemical complex, or industrial plant strongly preferred
• Basic understanding of industrial electrical equipment: motors, motor starters, breakers, relay protection devices, transformers, and switchgear
• Knowledge of electrical area classifications and hazardous area equipment installation requirements
• Basic understanding of industry standards including API, NFPA, NEC, IEEE, ASME, ANSI, and ASCE
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and project scheduling programs
• Willingness to learn and use AutoCAD, SKM load-flow & short-circuit programs, and SEL Quickset
• Working experience in petrochemical production units with safety and environmental awareness
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for technical instruction and cross-functional collaboration
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
