Apex Systems is immediately seeking Level 1 and Level 2 Data Center Technical Operations Engineers to support our large multifaceted tech client.

We are looking for qualified candidates that can operate and manage both routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as: switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.

Job Title: Data Center Technical Operations Engineer

Location: Herndon, VA & Sterling, VA

Duration: 6m+ CTH

Compensation: Hourly rate ranges from $30-$42/hr on W2 – Based on relevant years of experience and corresponding Level

Hours/Shift: Various shifts and times available (Day/Night)

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure 24/7 reliability and availability of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment through daily monitoring and maintenance.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS) effectively.
• Troubleshoot and resolve facility and rack-level events promptly within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Complete preventative maintenance (PM) tasks, repairs, and root cause analyses to minimize equipment downtime.
• Execute rack installs and decommissioning promptly within internal SLAs.
• Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance.
• Coordinate projects with IT managers and other business leaders to manage capacity and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Technical (Military/ Trade School) Degree and/or relevant experience.
• 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to work onsite
