Salary: $14/hour based on experience

* OPEN INTERVIEWS - Thursday, September 12 and 26 , 9am - 11:30am and 2pm - 4:30pm. Please bring a current resume for walk-in interview at 510 Maine Street, 7th floor, Quincy, IL. No phone calls, please. (NOT A REMOTE POSITION) Since 1974, we at Midwest Answer have been serving our customers and their callers with answering services that are professional, flexible, responsive and always friendly. We provide answering services of all kinds, as well as more customized options for specialized needs such as medical answering service, legal answering service and small government answering service. Our Agents answer phones for companies nationwide (no sales calls). This position requires multi-tasking, the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, and be able to adapt to many client types. Computer and typing skills are required ; experience in an office setting is preferred. A professional phone presence is required.

We are hiring part-time on second shift (3p - 11p), which includes weekends. Open availability is required to cover other shifts as needed. 

Responsibilities

• Manage large amounts of incoming calls
• Quickly adapt your communication style to appropriately fit the type of call being handled
• Take professional messages that properly convey the necessary information - strong attention to detail
• Ability to use multiple programs as needed and quickly transition from one to the other
• Be a productive and contributing member of the team
• Follow procedures, guidelines and policies

Skills

• Proven customer support experience or administrative experience in an office setting
• Experience with Microsoft Office and basic PC troubleshooting ability
• Strong phone call handling skills and active listening
• Use logic to make necessary decisions based on procedures and guidelines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
