Job Title

Assure the continuous operation of the liquid choline plant and associated site equipment through shift operator duties and teamwork while maintaining a safe, high quality, and environmentally compliant facility.

The employee who operates this continuous batch system will work the designated hours on their assigned shift and perform the following job duties:

• Maintain accurate logs and readings.
• Responsible for first response to emergency situations that occur as a member of HAZMAT team.
• Member of plant fire fighting team.
• Adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform plant preventive maintenance.
• Adherence to all environmental policies.
• Perform minor maintenance work and assist during plant shutdowns.
• Maintain assigned operating area in a clean and neat manner.
• Work on special projects to improve plant operations.
• Respond to visual and audible alarms. This involves good sight, hearing, and logical thinking.
• Monitor and adjust flow rates of reactants, steam and water in the Choline Chloride process. This involves much walking, and observing, climbing ladders, turning of valves and testing of process materials.
• Unloading raw materials and loading finished product on railcars or tank trucks. This involves wearing PPE, lifting, walking, going up and down stairs, climbing ladders, pushing, and pulling motions, handling wrenches with forces possibly exceeding 50 pounds, balancing on top of railcars and tank cars with the possibility of contact with hazardous materials.
• Testing and adjusting pH on immediate and finished product. This involves walking, turning valves, wearing PPE, with possibility of exposure to corrosives.
• Waste Water Treatment System, this involves walking, turning valves, possible heat exposure, wearing PPE, possible exposure to corrosives.
• Train new employees on various shift responsibilities.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures including use of safety equipment (PPE) and equipment safeguards.

Manufacturing and forklift experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalency. Ability to follow oral and written instructions; good oral and written communication skills and ability to perform mathematical calculations.
