Edmeston Central School has an opening for a: Building Maintenance Mechanic (2nd Shift) 12 Month Position Salary Range - $50,000 - $55,000 Depending on Experience Paid Time Off / NYS Retirement Health & Dental The Building Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of school facilities during evening hours. This position performs a wide range of maintenance and repair duties including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building upkeep. The mechanic conducts routine inspections, responds to maintenance requests, and troubleshoots issues to maintain a secure and efficient environment for students and staff. Duties may include adjusting heating and cooling systems, repairing leaks, replacing lighting, and ensuring equipment is in good working order. The role requires independent judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance tools is essential. The second shift typically runs after school hours into the evening and may involve occasional weekend work or emergency calls.
