Summary Description

The Birthday Party Host greets and welcomes all participants, parents, and community members. Ensure visitors are present for a specific permitted event. Decorate the space to host the Birthday Party. Organize and facilitate games and activities. This role is responsible for providing best-in-class customer communication and service for all birthday events from start to finish. Working in strong collaboration with Jones Center staff and external customers, the position provides smooth and successful birthday events for each client. The position requires flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends. Must be a fun, outgoing, energetic team player.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome all guests and/or community members.
  • Interact with guests to ensure needs are met and that we create a memorable experience.
  • Ensure the party room is clean and prepped for each party, including add-on birthday items like balloons to be delivered to the appropriate spaces prior to the start of the party.
  • Organize, set up and facilitate games and/ or activities.
  • Ensure unoccupied utility carts are rounded up and stationed by the main concourse doors for guest convenience.
  • Answer questions and/ or direct questions to appropriate personnel.
  • Help create and ensure a safe environment which may include light clean up and general cleaning of spills and/ or notify facilities staff.
  • Communicate all incidents or injuries, needs, or concerns to immediate supervisor and/ or Security and Facilities department.
  • Checking guests-in process with upon arrival.
  • Work collaboratively with all interdepartmental personnel.
  • Uphold and exemplify department policies and guidelines in all aspects of job performance and in relationships with children, guests, and Jones Center employees as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Administer and/or assist with basic First Aid and completion of accident report forms.
  • Be able to share general department operational knowledge.
  • Attend and participate in department-provided training, in-services, and training as required.

Require skills and Experiences

  • High School or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience
  • Bi-lingual is a plus.

About The Jones Center

The Jones Center is a recreation, education, and event center for families in downtown Springdale, Arkansas

The Jones Center boasts a year-round ice arena, junior-Olympic lap pool, activity pool with a slide, world-class bike park, basketball court, fitness center, indoor track, conference center, and chapel/auditorium.

Our facility is home to regional youth sports such as the Aqua-Hawgs swim team and the NWA Hockey Association as well as individual sports and activities like gymnastics, ballet, Taekwondo, and figure skating at affordable pricing for families.
