About this Role

The Associate to the Vice President & Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation is responsible for providing senior-level administrative and project management support to ensure the smooth operation of the Investment Office. This pivotal role involves managing the CIOs priorities and calendar, overseeing the production and quality of reporting materials for the Foundation Investment Committee and board, and leading projects across multiple teams. Key responsibilities include serving as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders, coordinating both domestic and international travel logistics, and representing the CIOs office with diplomacy and discretion. The role demands an exceptional ability to draft and edit CIO communications, coordinate meetings, and manage highly confidential and sensitive information. In addition, the Associate will engage in strategic project management, oversee office workflows and information flow, and support department budgeting and forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee CIOs complex calendar, meeting preparation, and priority alignment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for CIO communications and correspondence.
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel logistics and itineraries.
  • Draft and edit CIO communications, presentations, and memos.
  • Lead end-to-end Investment Committee meeting production and logistics.
  • Coordinate closely with Investments team members and relevant partners.
  • Manage strategic projects by tracking timelines and coordinating stakeholders.
  • Own weekly Investment Team meeting cadence and publish summaries.
  • Oversee day-to-day Investment Office workflows.
  • Support department budgeting and forecasting.
  • Coordinate complex meetings and events.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent with at least 6 years of experience.
  • Experience with investments or credentials in business, finance, or related field.
  • Preferred endowment/foundation, asset management, or financial services experience.
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts and investment reporting.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation abilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
