Position Type: Assistant Pastry Chef Full-Time, Weekends Required
Job Overview:
As an Assistant Pastry Chef, you will play a vital role in assisting the Pastry Chef in the daily operations of our bakery. This includes preparing, baking, and decorating a variety of desserts, ensuring that all food safety standards are met, and working as a key member of our bakery team. If you have experience in a high-volume kitchen and are eager to develop your skills, we'd love to meet you!
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Pastry Chef with daily preparation and baking of a wide variety of desserts including cakes, cookies, pastries, and other baked goods.
Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain focus on efficiency and detail.
Support the preparation of high-volume orders for events, catering, or retail sales.
Abide by all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
Work with the team to meet deadlines and maintain smooth workflow in the bakery.
Help with inventory management and ingredient preparation.
Communicate effectively with other team members, the Pastry Chef, and management.
Flexibility to assist with special projects or new dessert creations as needed.
Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience preferred
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
Availability to work weekends and flexible hours based on the needs of the bakery.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Passion for baking and a love of cookies.
