A K-12 school in Tucson, AZ, is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support students and staff throughout the contract school year (CSY). This role is essential in facilitating effective communication and ensuring an inclusive educational environment for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, students, and families to ensure accessibility and promote understanding.
• Assist in developing communication strategies tailored to individual student needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
• Support school activities that require interpretation services as needed.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills.
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, ideally within K-12 schools.
• Knowledge of Deaf culture and effective communication techniques.
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to diverse classroom environments.
• Certification or credentials in sign language interpreting are preferred.
