Job Description

We are currently seeking an Area Director of Sales to oversee our sales department. Your responsibilities include outside sales calls, acquiring new accounts, conducting site tours, and networking within the local business community to boost hotel sales. You will also be responsible for forecasting, creating promotional materials, and maintaining communication with your General Manager.

This position may require flexible scheduling.

Requirements

  • Solicit, negotiate, and secure both new and repeat business
  • Actively promote room nights through outside sales calls, telemarketing, site tours, etc.
  • Lead, train, coordinate, and supervise the Sales and Catering Managers and the Sales Coordinator in all sales activities
  • Achieve or surpass the hotel’s budgeted REVPAR
  • Develop the hotel’s annual marketing and sales plan based on market position and strengths
  • Forecast occupancy based on market conditions and direct selling efforts to maximize revenue
  • Ensure team members are familiar with key accounts and business specifics

Qualifications

  • Experience with Hotel Sales Force Automation tools (e.g., Delphi, STS) is a plus
  • Strong communication skills for negotiation and influence
  • Knowledge of demand segments and market sources
  • Understanding of competitors in each market segment
  • Motivated team player with initiative and achievement drive
  • Effective problem-solving skills in workplace challenges
  • Ability to work well under stress

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and lift/move up to 25 pounds as needed.
