Location:
Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT)
Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (40 hours/week; weekends required )
Pay: $15.00/hour

Job Responsibilities

Your work helps keep the airport safe, clean, and operating smoothly. Responsibilities include:
  • Collecting trash, waste, and boxes from restaurants, retail stores, restrooms, and designated areas
  • Emptying waste receptacles, replacing liners, and ensuring areas remain clean and sanitary
  • Safely transporting and emptying tilt trucks into the appropriate dumpsters
  • Maintaining organized, disinfected trash collection areas
  • Following all CLT airport security rules, regulations, and badge requirements
  • Using proper PPE at all times and adhering to sanitation standards
  • Reporting hazards, maintenance needs, or unusual activity to supervisors immediately
  • Working professionally, respectfully, and reliably in a secure airport environment

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must pass a fingerprint-based background check (required by airport security)
  • Able to lift, push, and pull up to 80 pounds repeatedly
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Able to communicate effectively in English or Spanish
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Must follow all safety and security regulations at all times
  • Exhibits reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and a strong work ethic

Position Requirements

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding role in a fast-paced airport environment. Candidates must be able to safely perform the following essential functions:
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 80 pounds repeatedly
  • Perform continuous physical movements required for daily tasks
  • Stand and walk for up to 94% of the shift
  • Stooping: bend the body forward and downward
  • Kneeling: bend legs at the knees to reach lower areas
  • Reaching: extend arms and hands in various directions
  • Handling: grasp, hold, turn, and work with hands to complete assigned duties
Applicants must be able to carry out these tasks safely and consistently throughout their scheduled shift.

Because this position is located in a secure airport facility, all applicants must present valid, unexpired identification that meets federal security standards.
